My personal journey into fitness began at the age of 17.  I started taking aerobic classes and was immediately hooked.  Since that time, I have always belonged to a gym and have continued to do aerobics as well as add weight training to the mix.  In 1997, I married my husband, Dave, and decided to become a Certified personal trainer.  I found that working one-on-one with people really builds relationships and allows you to be a part of their journey to becoming healthy.  I became certified in Group Exercise in 1999, and immediately began to teach kickboxing, step, toning, hi/lo and even water aerobics.  I love the enthusiasm of exercising with a group of people.  We can all motivate each other in so many ways.  I continued to teach aerobics even through my pregnancy with my first son, Jackson.
So, I took my first Pilates class only three months after giving birth to my second son, Dylan.  I remember thinking "you want me to rollup from the floor?"  Well, something that seemed impossible, became possible after a handful of classes.  Pilates made the biggest difference in my core strength and flexibility.  I could actually feel and see the difference.  In 2004, I added Certified Pilates Instructor to my credentials and have fallen in love with this exercise.  I've had so many people come to me and tell me wonderfulstories of how Pilates has helped them, sometimes healed them from injuries, as well as given them the strength to walk around in their daily lives more aware of their posture.
My partner, Christie Hill, and I, have dedicated ourselves to making sure we know all that we possibly can about Pilates, and the Pilates reformer.  We have been diligently training through the Pilates Certification Center to make certain that we can give our clients all the information they need to safely and effectively practice Pilates.  We want to make a difference in the lives of every person that walks through the doors of The Absolute Studio.  We are committed to the core!
